Jeffrey G. Demain, MD



Jeffrey G. Demain, MD, FAAP, FACAAI, FAAAAI

Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology and specialized in Pediatrics.

Dr. Demain is the Director of the Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Center of Alaska. He is an assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine and adjunct professor at the University of Alaska. A nationally recognized speaker,In 2001, Dr. Demain founded the Asthma and Allergy Foundation ofAmerica, Alaska Chapter. Additionally he is a member on the NationalInsect Allergy Committee, of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthmaand Immunology. Dr. Demain is published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, is a review editor on several, and is co-author of a textbook, Cutaneous Allergy. A long-time Alaskan, Dr. Demain is an avid fly fisherman, skier, and outdoorsman.

Teresa A. Neeno, MD



Teresa A. Neeno, MD, FAAP, FACAAI

Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology and specialized in Pediatrics.

Dr. Neeno has been a practicing allergist since 1996. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1991, she completed her pediatric residency at Keesler Medical Center followed by her allergy immunology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. A recipient of the US Air Force Health Professions Scholarship, Dr. Neeno has authored and published multiple articles and abstracts. She is a frequent speaker and lecturer and has presented her research at national meetings across the United States. A mother of 3 active children, Dr Neeno can be found shuttling between the Rock Gym, the Wrestling Gym, and cross-country ski areas.

David A. Hemry, MD



David A. Hemry, MD, FACAAI

Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology and specialized in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Hemry has been practicing allergy in Alaska since 1974. A Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society member, he graduated from medical school at the University of Rochester where he was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Hemry completed postgraduate training at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY where he served as chief resident in Internal Medicine, followed by his allergy immunology fellowship with John Condemi in Rochester. Dr. Hemry served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard for 26 years. He retired as a colonel in 2000 after serving a number of years as state surgeon for the Alaska Army National Guard. Dr. Hemry has published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and more recently contributed to a multi-disciplinary study in Alaska on Allergic Tracheobronchitis. He has delivered presentations to a variety of medical groups and societies as well as to the Alaska State Medical Association. Dr. Hemry specializes in the treatment of allergic disease in adults.

Melinda M. Rathkopf, MD



Melinda M. Rathkopf, MD, FAAP, FACAAI

Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology and specialized in Pediatrics.

Dr Rathkopf earned her medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She then entered the U.S. Air Force, completing her pediatric residency training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. She practiced general pediatrics for a couple of years prior to her Allergy and Immunology fellowship training at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. She served nine years as an Air Force physician prior to joining the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Center of Alaska. She has been practicing in Anchorage since July of 2006. Additionally, Dr. Rathkopf currently serves as the chairperson of the New Allergist in Practice Committee for the American Academy of Asthma and Allergy. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, and is a nationally recognized speaker.

Eric A. Meier, MD

Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology and specialized in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Meier earned his medical degree at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. He then entered the U.S. Air Force, completing his internal medicine residency training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. He practiced internal medicine for three years at the U.S. Air Force Academy prior to his Allergy and Immunology fellowship training at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. He was Chief of Allergy and Immunizations at Elmendorf Air Force Base, AK and served as the allergy consultant to the Pacific Air Force. He spent ten years as an Air Force physician prior to joining the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Center of Alaska. He is board certified in Allergy & Immunology and also in Internal Medicine. Dr. Meier is a marathon runner, skier, and mountaineer.

Diana K. Hess, ANP



Diana K. Hess, ANP is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.  She is a graduate of Harding University and The University of Missouri.  Diana has a strong interest in asthma and allergy education and has worked extensively in primary care.  Currently a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Diana is committed to the education of her patients.

Kristina M. Waring, SLP


Kristina Waring, SLP

Kristina received her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology in May of 2004 from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO. She has over 10 years experience in creating and implementing testing and treatment protocols for children and adults presenting with speech and language disorders due to developmental disorders & delays, articulation/phonological impairments, expressive & receptive language impairments (syntax, semantics, pragmatics, & cognitive-linguistics), vocal cord dysfunction, various voice disorders, and reading & comprehension impairments. She also provides services in the areas of accent reduction and dialect training. Kristina is ASL proficient and is certified in speech-language pathology at the national and state levels.
Sherryl G. Meek, RD, LD


Sherryl G. Meek, RD, LD

Sherryl is a registered, licensed dietician. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition with dietetic emphasis from North Dakota State University and has been practicing in Alaska since 1989. She was a program manager and practicing dietitian with the Alaska Women’s Infants and Children nutrition program for ten years. Sherryl has been an adjunct professor at UAA-MatSu and a relief dietitian for Valley Hospital. She has held various board positions for the Alaska Dietetic Association and for the past three years has been a board member for the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America, Alaska chapter. In addition to volunteering for the AAFA since 2002 she frequently contributes recipes and nutrition articles to the AK newsletter. Sherryl’s interest in food allergy and asthma stems from caring for family members with allergic disease. She began her practice at the Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Center of Alaska in 2006. Her practice specializes in assisting treatment of food allergy.
